Low-income schoolchildren will learn how to create websites
Children from needy families will be taught how to create websites for free. Involta, a social partner of the Ivanovo city administration, launches a free web design and web development program.
About 600 small and medium-sized business enterprises in our region work in the field of IT technologies. Five Ivanovo universities train specialists in this area. Now the guys will learn the web tricks in Involta directly from practicing developers of Internet resources.
Elena Areshina, head of the city education department:
We are very pleased that the education department has a new social partner. This course will also be of a vocational guidance nature because children will understand after passing it, if they will develop in this area, or, perhaps, choose another.
The course is created for children from low-income families aged 12 to 17 years. Before signing up, parents must provide the relevant documents. Students with an initial level of web literacy are invited to study. It is not necessary to have a home computer.
Sergey Getmanov, director of the Involta company:
«Participants will be able to get free education in the field of IT technologies, as well as improve the starting opportunities for obtaining education in the best universities in Russia and the world, which will help them interact, get a prestigious job and a highly paid profession in the future».
Homework is not planned. Theoretical and practical classes will be held based on the company on Saturdays for three months. Participants will be able to polish up the acquired skills on modern computers. The company will also provide stationery. A professional web developer and computer science teacher will train the children.
